Top 5 Favourite High End Lipsticks

Mac Creme Cup, Mac LoveLorn, Urban Decay Native, Nars Anita, Urban Decay 714

I love lipsticks and have built up nice collection over the last few years. I found choosing my Top 5 really hard but I have managed to narrow it down.

I tend to go for a more nudey lipstick with a pink under tone as it suits my skin tone a lot better than more browny nudes. The 5 I gave picked are my most used lipsticks and are more everyday shades.

Mac Creme Cup, Mac LoveLorn, Urban Decay Native, Nars Anita, Urban Decay 714

CremeCup is a cremesheen lipstick and has to be my most used lipstick and my go to every day colour. It is a pinky nude and sits on my lips really nicely and wears nicely throughout the day. I love wearing this lipstick to work.

LoveLorn is such a nice pink shade, it is similar in colour to Creme Cup but with a lot more pink to it and it is a lot more glossy on the lips. This was the first MAC lipstick that I ever bought.

Native has a little bit more brown in it that the two Mac shades but I still love it and its the formula is incredible and applies like a dream. Some times I will go over the top with a gloss and it looks so good!

Anita is part of the NARS Audacious lipstick collection and I love it. Its is on the brown side for my type of nude but it is amazing. It lasts on the lips all night and it looks amazing with a smokey eye. I can't wait to but more NARS lipsticks.

I love the packaging on the Gwen Stefani collection and this colour just called out to me. It is a true matte red and it stays on my lips on a night out. It is similar to Ruby Woo by MAC which I also love this pushes it over the edge with the packaging.

This was a hard choice to make as I have quite a few lipsticks to chose from and this will probably change in the next few months.

I already have a list of lipsticks that I want to pick up and test out.

What is your favourite lipstick/ lipstick brand? What brand should I try out? Leave me a comment bellow!!

Mini Boots Haul

Does this ever happen to anyone else, I pop into Boots to pick up some essential (this time it was for Shampoo and Conditioner) and  just browse the make up section just to see if there is anything new and end up buying things you didn't really need?? I do it all the time which is why I try and avoid going into Boots unless I have to, I have no impulse control when it comes to Make Up.

I haven't tried all the products I bought yet but will just show you the bits and pieces I picked up.

Rimmel

This is my third tube of this lipstick, I love it!! Its applies nicely and sits nicely on the lips. I love this colour, it is a Pink Nude. I have tried a couple of other colours from this range but this is my all time favourite.

Revlon
Revelon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour in Devotion £8.99

The only reason I picked this up was because it was on offer, It was £2 off so thought I would pick it up.

I haven't tried it on my lips yet, but I have swatched it, the colour is a mauve nude. The texture feels nice a creamy and the applicator is a really nice shape to hug the lips for even application.

Soap and Glory

I haven't tried this yet other that to swatch it on the back of my hand and it is a lot more sheer that I though it would be.

The colour also wasn't what I expected and is a lot more orange nude than pick.

But I absolutely love the packaging and looks really good amongst my lipstick collection.

L'Oreal

I will be doing a separate review on this product so not going to go into a lot of detail.

But this has only just come into my Boots store and have been desperate to try it since I saw that it was launched in the US, I saw so many US based YouTubers talking about this product so I can't wait to put this to the test.

So check back next week for my review!!

I also picked up a couple of different types of hair clips, they come in handy for when I am trying to style my hair. I can't be without them.

So that was my Mini Haul. If you want a review on any of the lipsticks let me know, I already have one planned for the L'Oreal foundation, I just need to test it out a bit more to I can make up my mind.

Leave me comment and let me know what products were in your last mini haul or your opinion on the products I picked up.

Don't forget to check back next week when I will hopefully have my review  posted!!

Morphe Brushes Palette Collection

I only have a small collection at the moment, I don't really have a lot of space to store make up and I didn't want to get any palettes that I wasn't going to use. The four that I do have I absolutely love, one was a Christmas present and the others I purchased on Cult Beauty.

The palettes are fantastic, the pigmentation is excellent and they blend out beautifully. The bonus is that the palettes aren't expensive, the bigger 35 palettes are only £20.75. When I have more room I will be purchasing more from the collection.

Zodiac 12 Colour Smokey Eye Palette (12Z) £16

Morphe Brushes 12Z Palette

I love this little palette, it is quite small, slightly smaller than I expected but is great for travelling. The colours have excellent pigmentation and are not overly glitter, they just have a really nice shimmer to them. I mainly use the colours to pack on to the lid especially the silver shadow. The colours add to any look and is a great addition to any make up collection.

That Glow Bronzer Palette (9BZ) £16

Morphe Brushes 9BZ Palette

I like this palette but I'm not in love with this palette, my main issue is that some of the bronzer colours just don't suit me very well, I am quite pale so the darker shades make me look really muddy. But if you are a make up artist this would be a great addition to your kit because of the great range of shades. The shades that I do use are very well pigmented and blend out like a dream, so I would advise using a light hand when using the products!!
Someone who isn't as pale as me would probably appreciate this palette a lot more and would get better use out of the darker shades and like I said would be a great addition to an artist kit for a really good price.

35 Colour Plum Eye Shadow Palette (35P) £20.75

Morphe Brushes 35P Palette
I love this palette for so many reasons. The colours, how pigmented the shadows are, how buttery and smooth they are, they also blend like a dream. The colours build up beautifully and I can create so many looks with this palette. I especially love the shimmer shades they are not overly glittery and last on the lid. This is my perfect eye shadow palette, the colour suit my skin tone much more that something like the 35O palette. I highly recommend this!

35 Colour Dark Smoky Eye Palette (35D) £20.75

Morphe Brushes 35D Palette

This was my first purchase from Morphe about 9 months ago, it doesn't get as much use now that I have the 35P palette but I still really like this palette especially for a smoky eye, the whole bottom right hand corner just calls out silvery smoky which for a night out is generally my go to look. The colour pay off on all the shadows are excellent especially the bright colours and there is a great mix of colours to be really creative with your looks. The colours all blend out nicely and the shimmers are really beautiful. If these types of colours call out to you I couldn't recommend this palette enough especially for the price.

I love these palettes and couldn't recommend them more especially for the price point you just can't go wrong. I can't wait to add more of the palettes to my collection.

I have quite a few Morphe brushes that I might do a review on so if you are interested in that leave me a comment below :D You should definitely take a look at the Morphe collection and see if anything catches your eye, you won't regret it.

Do you have a favourite Morphe Palette that you think I should try leave me a comment below :D

Quick At Home Pedicure

I really hate having my feet touched by other people so I tend to do my own pedicures. As it is summer and the sandals are coming out I put a lot more effort into taking care of my feet, especially as they are on display a lot more.

I do try and keep this as simple as possible and depending if I have time will do this once a week (if my feet need it maybe twice but that is very rare).

I start my soaking my feet (if I need to I will cut my toe nails before soaking). I sit on the edge of my bath to his just because it is a lot easier for me and less to clean up afterward, I fill the bath up enough so that it covers my feet and might put in some bubble bath as well and let them soak for about 5 minutes or so depending on how I feel.

I then go in with the Avon's exfoliating soap bar this is great just to start gently exfoliate my feet especially in the more delicate areas when I won't be going in with my foot buffer. It also is good for cleaning my feel and making them feel fresh.

This next products is a favourite and it is the Foot Buffer from Soap and Glory this is great for getting in there and giving my feet a really good scrub. It removes all the dead skin of my heals and any other areas that are feeling rough. The thing I really like about this is the handle and the way it curves to help get a really great scrub.

I will then dry of my feet and paint my toe nails and the nail varnish I have been loving is OPI 'Spare Me a French Quarter' from the New Orleans collection.

Once my nail varnish has fully dried, the final product I will go in with is Heel Genius by Soap and Glory, I will cover my feet in this foot cream and then put some socks on so it can all absorb into my skin. It make so much of a difference, it is a brilliant product and definitely worth a try if you have never tried this. I love this product!!

If your like me and don't like getting your feet done I hope this gives you some ideas for at home pedicures.

If you have any holy grail products I should give a try leave me a comment below.

Top 5 Brands I Really Wish I Could Get In The UK

There are so many brands that I wish that I could get in the UK whether via the Internet or in store. The brands either don't ship to the UK or it costs a lot of money to get it shipped to the UK. It really annoys me that when I am on the Sephora website and I add an item to my basket, when I got to check out it tells me that they can't ship it to the UK and with some brands it is just certain products that can't be shipped.

My Top 5 brands on my list to try are:

Colour Pop: I want to buy all of the Colour Pop products, I especially want to try the Kathleen Lights and Jamie King collabs. Colour Pop just don't ship to the UK, I go onto there website every now and then to see if it has changed and just leave disappointed even more so when you see UK beauty bloggers and Vloggers using the products and I can't get a hold of the products.

Kat Von D: I want to try everything in the Kat Von D collection, the products are up there in price so I'm not that comfortable with buying it on Sephora with out even swatching the product and make sure it suits me.

Wet n Wild: All I hear about Wet n Wild is how great it is for the money, that its a really affordable brand. I really want to try there blushes and new make up brushes as I keep seeing really good reviews.

Tarte: I want to try their Amazonian Clay products especially the blushes, this is a similar issue with the Kat Von D I can order from Sephora but I want to be able to be certain I am picking the right product for me. Plus it is so expensive to get a Spehora package shipped to the UK, you have to order a lot to make it worth the expense.

Lorac: I really want to try the Pro Palettes and the Unzipped Palettes, I have watched so many tutorials wishing I could get a hold of the palettes to try myself. The next time I go to the US my aim is to find a Lorac counter!!!

Are there any brands you want to try or that I should be adding to my list leave me a comment below?

My Current Skin Care Routine

I love trying out new skin care and have tried and tested a lot of products over the years. I have Dry/Combination skin, my T Zone through out the day no matter what I do does get oily. My skin is blemish prone and some of the blackhead/clearing treatments I use can make certain parts of my face really dry and red. So I have to try an balance my skin care routine to tackle both skin care issues which can be a challenge but I have found some Holy Grail products.

I use different products morning and night, I tend to use gentler products on my skin in the morning as my skin is sensitive and redness does tend to show through my make up. I do subscribe to Glossy Box and it is always full of skin care products to try.

Morning Routine:

  1. The first product I go in with is Peaches and Cream Deep Cleansing Milk by Soap and Glory (£8)- This is the third bottle I have purchased and is great just to take of any residue of moisturiser or overnight face mask from the night before. I don't use the product on its own as I feel like it doesn't clean my skin deeply enough but does take all my make up. I love this product definitely worth a try!!
  2. The cleanser I use is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Gel  , This came as part of a set (£33) I purchased in the Christmas sale. It is a really nice gentle cleanser, my skin feels nice and clean after using it. I would probably repurchase this after it has run out, probably one of the better cleansers I have tried.
  3. My morning toner is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Clarifying Toner also part of the same set, this is a much gentler toner than I use in the evening but it does do the job of helping to minimise my pores.
  4. The moisturiser I use if the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+, its a really nice light weight moisturiser and sits nicely under my make up and absorbs into my skin quickly.
  5. If I have a blemish I will use the Clinique Anti Blemish Solution Clinical Clearing Gel (£20) it helps reduce redness and will dry out any blemish that's coming through and it last a long time. I will use this morning and night, If I have used something like a nose pore strip I will but some of this over my nose, it will help close up my pores and help keep them clear.

Evening Routine:

  1. After taking my make up of with a make up wipe or some Bioderma, I will go in again with the Peaches and Cream Deep Cleansing Milk just to make sure all my make up was removed before going in with my cleanser.
  2. My evening cleanser is the First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay (£18) I've only been using this for a couple of weeks and so far I like it, It gives my skin a really deep clean and cleans out any build up in my pores. I do tend to switch up my cleansers quite regularly trying to find my holy grail cleanser.
  3. I will also use my cleanser with the Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush (£79) I've had this for nearly 2 years now, I tend to use this every other day as it can be quite abrasive on the skin but it really helps with a deep clean.
  4. Dermalogica Daily Microfilant  (£41.75) now this is quite a pricey purchase but I wouldn't be without, it gives my skin a nice gentle scrub. I've been using this on the days I don't use  my Clinique Sonic System. It has made my skin brighter and smoother and my skin feel really clean afterward. It is worth the splurge and you only use a small amount at a time so it lasts a long time.
  5. My evening toner is the Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion (£18), this is a strong toner and you can feel is on your skin whilst its soaking in especially after exfoliating with my sonic system, I am lost without this product as it helps keep my skin nice and clear, I have lost count of the number of bottles I have gone through and is my Holy Grail Toner.
  6. My eye cream tends to very, I get quite a few samples through Glossy Box to try out. The one I am currently using is the Clinique All About Eyes  (£26.50) I got this as a free sample and I do like it, once the sample has run out I may purchase the full size.
  7. My evening moisturiser does very slightly depending on how dry my skin is as some nights I might sleep in a face mask or a really thick moisturiser. My most used moisturiser is the Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions Clearing Moisturiser (£20) its a hydrating moisturiser but also helps keep my skin clear and soothes any redness caused from ex-foliating. I don't like to use this as day time moisturiser if I am wearing make up as I don't like how my make up sits on top of it. It is another repurchased product and would highly recommend.
I do tend to shop around for the best deal on skin care products, if I can I will try and buy it in a sale or if there is an offer like 3 for 2 on I will pick things up. I do tend to pick things up at Boots for the points because they do come in handy.

I am planning on doing a completely different post regarding face masks which is why I haven't included them in this post.

I love trying skin care products so if you have an recommendations leave me a comment and I will check it out.

First Impressions: The Balm Nude Tude EyeShadow Palette

I was in town shopping the other day and I popped into TK Maxx and I came found The Nude Tude Palette by The Balm in their beauty section, I have never seen any products by The Balm in TK Maxx before. So when I saw this in TK Maxx for £16 I couldn't resist especially because it probably wouldn't be there when I went back.

I have been eyeing this palette for a little while but as it is normally £30 and if I am going to spending £30 on a palette I want to swatch it to make sure that its worth the money.

I love the range of colours in the palette from highlight, transition, crease, lid and liner shades. I also like that its not full of different shades of brown but a nice mix, I also love that there is a matte black shade and a highlight shade. The pigmentation is fantastic and the shadow are nice and buttery, they all blend out really nicely. I could take this on holiday with nothing else and be happy I could create a nice range of looks.

The packaging is great and really visually appealing, I especially like that cover of the palette with the bedroom scene, talk about dream bedroom. The Balm products always have great packaging an I wasn't let down. I love that the names of the shadows are printed on the inside so you know what shadow you are using. The palette has a great mirror and its slim not overly bulky would be perfect for travelling. The only thing I don't like is the brush, but I never like the brushes that come in palettes

Favourite Shadow in the palette is Sexy a nice deep plum colour.

Least favourite shadow is Snobby, I'm just not a fan of peachy yellow shades.

I am really glad I picked up this palette and I know that I am going to get a lot of use out of it.

Overall rating:4/5

If you have holy grail product from The Balm let me know and I will give it a try.
